Greenyinthewestofsydney
Home all day today and its go go go. Doing an English IPA. Bottling the toucan stout that stalled and dry hopping the Rye IPA which has hit FG. @The Captain!!. Next time i will go 30% Rye i think. I can taste it in my sample but a little underdone i think. Still it will be quite a nice beer. Added to that mow the lawn and change the aquarium water.
Pezzza
Woohoo All Grain Two... Am thinking Vienna Lager... who knows what will result.... still working out the efficiency of my system and resultant fermentables… But at least the ripper Hot Grain Bag Extraction Machine and better designed Brew Bag seems to be working... The extraction machine... just some pulleys on a frame - I cannot attach to roof (only leasing)… but is pure gold compared to no mechanical advantage and heaving bag out.
Pezzza
better shot of the BIAB lifting 'machine' all you folk with a rafter to sling rope and pulleys from.... the below idea is redundant... but is also nice to not be hoisting directly over the stewing mash... Simple but a great idea BB2. As long as it does what you want it to do then it doesn’t have to be all fancy and shiny.

Lab Cat
Bottling my Saaz-soaked Pils on the weekend, and next up is a Strong(ish) English bitter. Can anyone suggest a good hop schedule to balance out the fermentables please? Wanting to make sure I don't have a sweet malty beer. I'm upping my fermantables by 500g with dark malt, to see how this works with a basic bitter can. PaddyBrew2
I did the battleship bitter with centennial and EKG hops. It packs an orange citrus punch to mellow out the sweetness from the kit and grains. One of my favourite brews to date

Greenyinthewestofsydney
Brew day tomorrow. Have been meaning to do this beer for nigh on two months but am finally around to it. Mashing high on this one 68c as the last few have attenuated a little too high into the high 90s. I want something low 90s if possible. Will start the ferment at 18c with the 2.5L starter and once i see krausen will go up 1c per day till 24c then held till done.

I have been making rye bread for a while now (pure rye no other flour) which is great. I think I must have a crack at doing the Rye brew thing - and thanks for posting your recipe which will be a great base to start with. Thanks mate. Just been playing with mash temp, ferment temp and starter size more than anything to see if i can improve it.
