csavage87
Hi All, I went to this craft-brew place last night with a mate and sampled a fantastic Vienna Lager from Newstead Brewing (Brisbane). Was so good... I just loved the delicate combination of malty sweetness with dry, crispness and light hoppiness. I've researched some basics for creating your own Vienna Lager style beer, including the required yeasts. However, I was wondering whether any of you guys have a recipe that you've used before? One of my best books says to ensure you only use max. 50% Vienna malt in any given brew but I reckon the Vienna Lager would have to have been a bit more than 50%. What do you guys reckon? Also, any recommendations for hop additions? Thanks, Savo.

Otto Von Blotto
They are good beers but they aren't Vienna lagers either. My usual pilsner recipe is based off Urquell and usually turns out pretty close to it too.
