Santa put 90g of Galaxy in my stocking this year and I'd like to make a ~30 IBU 1.050 Voyager Veloria "SMaSH" to enjoy in the new year. Does anyone have any suggestions for a hop schedule that has worked well in a SMaSH? I was thinking of saving half for a dry hop, then splitting the rest between 10 min and 2 min additions, with Magnum @ 60 mins to get to 30 IBU. Is there much to be gained from multiple late additions of Galaxy, or would a big dump at flameout + dry hop work just as well? Cheers. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Greenyinthewestofsydney Posted December 29, 2018 Share Posted December 29, 2018 Not really a smash using magnum and galaxy but anyway i wouldnt use galaxy for the 60 min boil anyway. Im a fan of getting half IBU from the 60 min boil and the rest from late additions. So i would get 15 from the magnum then a flamout addition for 15 mins or so for the rest with galaxy and use whats left over for the dry hop. Should be an easy drinker.
