Beer Baron
Current temperature of wort is 27.3. Target temperature is 10. Inkbird says fridge is cooling but it isn’t. Any idea what’s going on?? Thanks!
Hairy
Did you only just hook it all up? It could be the compressor delay. If it is then it will kick in in a few minutes.
Otto Von Blotto
Did you plug the fridge into the heating side by any chance?

Light working? Compressor humming along? Unplug the fridge from Inkbird and try in a different power point to test fridge?
Beer Baron
I’ve given everything a test and it all seems to work good. The fridge is always on the lowest setting and it’s chilling now so I wonder why it wasn’t before??

For the benefit of all those that use an Inkbird. Did you work out what was the issue?
Beer Baron
It came all good. I was just chilling to pitching temp so it didn’t matter that it was a bit warm. I have no idea what the issue was
Olemate
I've had the same thing happen several times and, as Hairy says, it was the compressor delay which can be quite long on some fridges. It's only when you are sweating on the fridge to kick in that you notice it. Each time you turn it off, the restart/try another power point exercise only starts the delay all over again. JoeB7
Domestic fridges have an auto reset thermal safety called a "clixon" which will activate if you turn off then try to start the compressor immediately. Need to allow pressures to equalise for a few minutes before restarting, hence time delays on most temp controllers.
Otto Von Blotto
I'm guessing mine doesn't have that feature being 60 odd years old... However I do have the delay in the controller set to 10 minutes so it does take a bit of time to kick in if it's been off, and I always run the fridge through it.
