Mark D Pirate
So I finally got my hands on some, had to buy a local craft brewery beers as a sealed starter (with free beer) $22 for 4 cans so still very cheap . Who else here has played with it or is interested in getting some ? @Ben 10 I'll get slants ready for you. By all my reading this strain is bloody bonkers, pitch low at high temps and ferment at 35° and is finished in 36/48 hours but without fusels or phenols. Drops like a stone without finings.... Hmmmmm if something sounds too good to be true it just might be. I'll run a batch and post results 1

Mark D Pirate
Pitch a teaspoon of slurry ? Harvest and dry in the oven ? 30 minute lag times ? I suspect this may be our first ET life form other than the furry rug looking symbiote thing currently residing on the scalp of the POTUS since surely nothing native to this planet behaves like that

Mark D Pirate
Now I've built up a culture I can pitch it and see what happens. This came off the stirplate 3 minutes ago , they weren't kidding when they said its a strong flocculator

Mark D Pirate
Warming the cube up now, pitching at 35° C just seems wrong. Seems the particular strain I have doesn't produce much krausen so I'll take measurements and report back on lag times, ferment time, attenuation ect

Mark D Pirate
Rye IPA Citra, cascade and mosaic. Notes on esters for this strain are orange peel, citrus and low earthiness / spice. Should complement the recipe nicely , 7 days grain to glass

Mark D Pirate
Well this batch won't be 7 days... I brewed it Wednesday and no chilled it since I broke my pump halfway through brewday. Had intended to chill and pitch GY054 Vermont IPA starter that was ready to go, change of plans. So 7 days from pitch to pour ?

Mark D Pirate
SG reading at 24 since pitch 1.030 so that's as 32 point drop in 24 hours and still going strong. I'll be making slants off of this, will try drying the slurry as well since that'll be super easy to mail to those who want to play with it
