John Morrison
Probably a stupid question. Can I add orange zest or juice to add that zesty taste to my beer? I know it is mostly hops that do that but interested to know if there are other options. Cheers.
The Captain!!
Gday John, Welcome to the forum. You sure can add zest. Try not to get any of the pith though as it adds some flavour that isn’t desirable. Captain
John Morrison
Thanks Cap! What amounts are we talking about for a 23 l batch?
The Captain!!
Probably around 40g. I’d tie it up in a Muslin bag or chux cloth. Leave it in the FV for a few days, check if it’s to your liking, remove, if not check it in a couple of days and repeat till it’s good to your tastes. Others may have more experience in this matter but that’s what I’d do.
