Hairy
I really enjoyed the standard White Rabbit Sour Red. The Grand Cru sounds great.
Hoppy81
Tried a few of these the other day. Great taste, not too thin bodied, aroma was great and very sessionable at 3.5%. Would highly recommend them. Cheers 1
Otto Von Blotto
Reminds me of a brewery on the sunny coast when I was a teenager, they had a standard strength beer called Piss and a light version called Piss Weak Not sure what style they were but probably lagers. 1

The Grand Cru sounds great. Had a few of the White Rabbit Sour Reds after a few Asahi at a Christmas function last night. For someone who’s not a huge fan of sours generally, this was magic! Great beer, complex, huge cherry, red wine aftertaste, with a sourness like grape skin. Bit slow this morning though. @Ben 10 What did you think of the Grand Cru? I did a SMASH Pils with Galaxy and Weyermann Pilsener Malt (and my bit of Wheat for head retention) with W34/70 and it worked out well... and after 2-3 months of 2 deg C cold lagering it was sennnnsational. Popo the Reprobate
A few from the Beer Cartel advent calendar. My palette is not the most refined but I'll add a few notes. Pretty good. Lemon myrtle added a little interest. I think there are many better in this style though. Great colour. Refreshing. Just a hint of orange and cranberry on the back end. I reckon the could have upped the fruit influence a bit. Much more on the IPA side than the Brut. Enough to know that was what they were doing. Enjoyable but wouldn't rush out and buy. Was looking forward to this. Love chipotle but was sadly disappointed. Found it undrinkable. Interesting for a sip but too much to finish a schooner. The head had pockets of red chili oil through it. Just too much to be even remotely enjoyable through the whole beer. Edit: please excuse the dirty glass haha Edited December 14, 2019 by Popo 2
Aussiekraut
Oh look, the latest CUB lager There wasn't much enjoyment but I think I am lagered out. Haven't liked any lagers I recently consumed.

Shamus O'Sean
Tasting Paddle at Longstocking Brewery - Pambula NSW Went through most of these with my son and SWMBO even tried the Apple Rhubarb Cider (9) and Ginger Ale (10). Great beers all round. Yes, they had ten of their own beers on tap. Our faves were the Pilsner, NEIPL and Dark Ale, so I bought a bottle of each, plus one of their Pale Ale which was not on tap at the time, so not on the tasting paddle. More on those later. Brewery had a great relaxed atmosphere. We got there early in the day. Staff were very pleasant, knowledgeable and not pushy. Food was simple but good. Decor was inviting. According to my wife, not too blokey.
Shamus O'Sean
Longstocking Brewery - Pale Ale The bottle says has Cascade, Galaxy, Simcoe and a "hidden Gem". Subtle stonefruit aroma. Very pleasant. Luverley bitterness. Subtle fruit flavour. Nice maltiness.
Shamus O'Sean
Longstocking Brewery - Pilsner Lager Bottle says contains Tettnanger hops. Glorious lager aroma - I wanted to ask them if it came from grains or a dry hop. Lovely all grain maltiness. Well balanced bitterness.
Shamus O'Sean
Humpback Brewery @ Tathra Hotel - Melon Headed Amber What an absolute hidden gem. I have visited the South East Coast of NSW over the past 25 years. Mostly around the Merimbula area and never visited the Tathra Pub until this trip. Not that it was always like it is now. That said, it always had a good reputation.. However, SWMBO was always put off by the public bar image. Driving to Tathra I saw a sign advertising "brewery" at the Tathra Hotel. As a brewer I had to visit. So after our customary visit to the Tathra Wharf, I declared my intention to check out the pub. The pub had a fire a few years ago, but was rebuilt. Now is brilliant for a visit. The Humpback Brewery was established in their former pokies room. Now no pokies and no TAB. The bar was outstanding. Decor in the place, you would be happy to take anybody. Staff could not do enough for you. Saw loads of oldies (he says at 53) in the cafe section, enjoying sweets and coffee. I wonder where the brewery is, I asked. My son said - see the huge stainless steel vats behind the glass behind the bar. Doh! I said. I tried their Humpback Brewery - Melon Headed Amber (sorry about the fuzzy photo). Woody resin aroma. Solid malty/woody flavour. Just like I want.
Shamus O'Sean
Longstocking Brewery - NEIPL Bottle notes: 3.2%ABV; Tropical fruit; Mid strength. Passionfruit/Pineapple aroma. Yeasty floaties. Se my new glass (thank you op shop). Mild bitterness. No strong aftertaste. Their IPA had more oomph. Easy to drink.
Shamus O'Sean
Longstocking Brewery - Dark Ale Bottle notes: Dark roasted barley, hints of coffee, smoked cherrywood malts plus Fuggles hops, earthy & woody. Their best beer IMHO. Woody/earthy roasted malt coffee aroma. Carries through into the mouth. View from our accommodation. We'll be back.
Shamus O'Sean
Bent Spoke Brewing Co - Sprocket Big & Hoppy 7% ABV - IPA territory Melon aroma and flavour Good bitterness, but well balanced. Not much bitterness aftertaste.
Shamus O'Sean
Bent Spoke Brewing Co - Red Nut - Red and Hoppy Citrus and Melon aroma Good roasted malty flavour. High bitterness. Apparent late hop flavour additions. Burnt orange colour.
Shamus O'Sean
Balter IPA (Brewed before the CUB take-over) Can notes: Frolicking naked thru spring forest, dive bombing of mandarin waterfall. Pine and mandarin aroma. Fresh flavour. Medium to high bitterness. Strong back of nose aroma. A great IPA.
Shamus O'Sean
Byron Bay Brewing - Hazy One Pale Lager Slight haze - small particles floating in the beer Floral aroma (reminds me of Tooheys Red Bitter). Nice lager flavour. 4.4% ABV. Different to their Premium Lager, but better than a megaswill lager. Another Op Shop new glass. Shamus O'Sean
Endeavour Brewing Co - Citrus Pale Ale Smells like orange juice. Tastes like Orange Tang with a bit more bitter zing. A VB-aficionado would hate this beer, but I like it.
Shamus O'Sean
Capital Brewing Co - Evil Eye Red IPA Can notes: Ruby red colour - Citrus hop flavours - Full bodied caramel malt base. Well defined citrus aroma. Very malty flavour. High bitterness. Residual in the mouth for a while. Strong-ale sense.
