JoeBrew Home Brew Supplies - LBOBETHAL SA

We went to the Adelaide Hills today to meet Joe from JoeBrew LHBS/Brewery/Tap Room, what a great bloke he insisted on a couple of free tasters & then I bought a couple more, really great set up & nice beer.

We will be returning again soon.

Yes Mate we had a bit of a chat as it was quiet & he was manning the bar, I bought some stuff in the Home Brew shop down the front.

He caters for the AG brewer & also k & k, if it wasn't 48 km's away I would go there more often but   " I will be back !! 💪"

Came across this mentioned in an article about commercial copies of Duvel. Apparently they (Duvel) took them to court for trying to cash in on their beer, but lost. If you look at the label it is a bit cheeky in the choice of colours etc…
TBH this one is rubbish. Nowhere near the dry finish of Duvel. I think that’s what makes such a style of beer (Belgian Strong Golden) what it is, rather than sickly tasting, high-alcohol content of similar brews (I’ll put Carlsberg’s Special Brew/ Elephant beer in with that type). Glad I only bought one…

A couple of Trappists I hadn’t tried for a while, from Rochefort. The triple is quite fruity, but the 10 is a beast at 11.3 volts 😳

Only one of them, that’s for sure. More of a winter beer,  in front of a roaring fireplace one…

My first beer in the Emerald Isle. I took my Easter punishment in the form of a 10 mile run, my in-laws prefer being harangued by a priest. Each to their own.
After a dip in the ocean to sort my legs out it’s Guinness time!

Looks awesome mate, great photos, I would have rather taken your style of punishment than the other !! 👾 Nice Guinness, did you reappropriate the glass. 🤣

Seasonal themed beer drinking tonight.  All three beers by White Rabbit Brewing were ace, but the sour was the standout.

White Ale

  • Spicy, fruity and zesty aroma.
  • These attributes carry through to the flavour.  Very light bitterness.

Dark Ale

  • Chocolate aroma with slight burnt toffee otherwise malty.
  • Sweet caramel flavour, but very well balanced by a good bittering level.
  • Very smooth and creamy mouthfeel.

Golden Sour Ale

  • Smells like a fresh cut lemon, with apricot undertones.
  • It does not have the usual"sour beer aroma".  Maybe the hop aroma blends into and conceals it.
  • Lightly acidic in flavour.
  • Some fruity hoppy flavours too.
  • I can pick up some malt flavour too.
  • I would love to know how they soured this beer.
