Greenyinthewestofsydney
Yep. Tooheys. VB or whatever can hold moderate carb levels fine. A stout is typically a touch less than moderately carbonated. When i do a stout which is only once a year they go into Tooheys 750ml bottles. YeastyBoy
Plus one. Never had an issue when using 750ml or 375ml bottles. Be aware the Coopers Recipe for Best Extra Stout contradicts itself on this site regarding Dextrose. Suggest you go with 500g of Dextrose not a kilo. Great recipe have one fermenting away at the moment. I use a fresh S04 yeast which hits the mark. All the best with this great brew.

I brewed the old version of the recipe years ago which was a stout kit, dark ale kit, 1kg dextrose and either the two kit yeasts or the commercial yeast. I went with the two kit yeasts and it turned out really well. Don't know how close it was to the commercial best extra stout but it was a nice stout all the same. The Captain!!
5 hours ago, Otto Von Blotto said: A six pack of pale ale stubbies Or three longnecks, that’ll give you more bottles. For the stout I brew I use the same amount of sugar for 500ml bottles in 750ml bottles. Carbs up perfectly.
