Malter White
Carlton have launched "Zero", a 0.0% alcohol beer. Fittingly, Bob Murphy is their brand ambassador because drinking 0.0 beer is just like playing footy for 20 years and not winning a flag.
Otto Von Blotto
Too bad he was injured a couple of years ago when they did win one. I think they forgot to add the 0.0% flavor on the label though...
Hairy
I tried a couple of alcohol free beers recently; it doesn't have much competition. The alcohol free hefewiezen was the only one I could drink 3/4 of. It at least had some flavour from the yeast and the wheat. I would just go with a glass of water instead. Otto Von Blotto
I tried the Budvar alcohol free one, for what it is not bad but still doesn't taste like a full strength beer.

That is what my wife has been drinking. By choice!!!
Beerlust
You can't put 100% & 0.0% in the same sentence.....unless you're a brewery.

Otto Von Blotto
I just like how they really have to drive the point home that it's zero by putting 0.0% on it... apparently that's more zero than 0%.
Shamus O'Sean
Could mean it is 0.04%?
Otto Von Blotto
It wouldn't really matter anyway, anything under 1% is considered non alcoholic.

Silmaril
Kinda related, where does the Birrell name come from on the Coopers no-alc beer? Was this another brand they took over?
Hairy
I’m pretty sure Birell is brewed under licence by Coopers in Aus. I think it is a foreign beer brand.

Why would Coopers need to brew an ultra light under licence? Seems odd.

PB2
Any beverage less than 1.15% ABV is considered non-alcoholic in Australia. Yep, Coopers have been brewing Birell Ultra-Light since 1977. We brew it under licence for Carlsberg. We also import Holsten 0.0%
Malter White
The mention of Birrell reminded me of this. Coopers had this stuff going back in the 70s, maybe even earlier but my memory only goes back to the 70s. Low carb beer 20 years before it became trendy to drink low carb beer. I still remember the radio jingle. A bit like a drill sergeant's chant. "Dee Bee, Dee Bee, the taste of Cooper's DB. Dee Bee, Dee Bee, the taste of Cooper's DB." "Ya win some, ya lose some, but take it from me, everyone's a winner with Coopers DB" Coopers have a new ad out atm along the lines of "Coopers, a beer for every occasion". Cheers, Lusty.
