davids47 Posted September 8, 2018 Share Posted September 8, 2018 I went to local brew shop and asked for some help to make a beer i wanted to try A biscuit ale Recipe 1.5 liquid malt extract Maris otter 200gm NZ biscuit Malt (crushed grain) Steeped.70c for 30min 10 gm Fuggles hop boiled 60min 10grm East Kent Goldings hop boiled 5min yeast was a safale brew amount was 12lt batch I can taste the hop but nothing of the Biscuit Malt , the little sample i have taken off is quite sweet i was hoping to taste a grain biscuit flavour (nothing) Its still in fermenter due to bottle about Wed where did i go wrong Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Hairy Posted September 10, 2018 Share Posted September 10, 2018 I would have thought you would taste 200g biscuit malt in a 12 litre batch with no other specialty malts. I agree with Norris; bottle it and carbonate it and see how it goes. Also, I'm not sure what you are expecting to taste but it is described as a 'saltine cracker' type taste.
