Nudenut Posted August 17, 2018 Share Posted August 17, 2018 Hi started my first brew yesterday ,( in kit form) everything was going well then after adding the yeast and securing the lid I noticed a leak from the tap( split o ring ) quickly decanted half the brew fixed it and refilled the decanted bit back in . have I messed up and do I need to start again witha new kit Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Beerlust Posted August 18, 2018 Share Posted August 18, 2018 Hello NudeNut, & welcome to the forum. It's a bit hard to say at this point. Just monitor the brew over the next couple of days keeping your eye out for a krausen forming on top of the brew wort. This is a typical sign the yeast is up & fermenting the wort.
