Pitch1988
Hi There I have brewed 2 beers so far a lager and a ginger beer but I am thinking for my next batch I will make a stout now the Coopers recipe is 1 × Stout (1.7kg) 1 × Coopers Brew Enhancer 2 (1kg) 1 × Coopers Carbonation Drops (250g) But I would like to add some ingredients to the mix any suggestions what I should or should not add? Thank You

The Captain!!
Gday Pitch1988, I know it’s early days for you and welcome to the wonderful world of making amazing beer. One thing you might want to look at for a stout is bottling sugar for the bottle conditioning and carbonation. I don’t want to sound condescending here either as I have no idea how much you know. A stout should have less carbonation then a pale ale or standard lager. Approximately 2/3rds to 3/4 of the full dose of sugar to carb with. If it’s too carbonated you’ll loose some of that flavour through the bubbles. Now I haven’t read the recipe and I probably should before replying to this thread. I just feel that for an improvement on your stout you could make that minor change and it should taste a lot better. Or bottle as normal and see how it goes. It’s only beer.
