ChristianN
Hey guys, Finished my first beer - the Unreal ale. Real happy with the results so far. I am thinking of doing the strawberry blonde. I've read here that some have used capilano/yellowbox honey. How did it turn out? Any suggestions of a 'light' honey available at the standard coles/woolies? MattVader
Any 'light' honey is good, but try some of the organic ones available in fruit and veg shops, like orange blossom honey - comes out beautifully!
Muddy Waters
I struggled to find a "light" honey and ended up using yellow box (which looked light to me). It turned out pretty rough but came good-ish after about 4 months- Drinkable but not great. I'd never make it again myself but some people seem to like it. andrewk5
Q 1: when ppl say light honey is that light in color, flavour or calories? Q 2: depending on the answer above what is the difference or problems involved with using Darker color honey? as i have mentioned in another post im thinking of using honey in my next beer, but ill be going to a speciality honey store & not worring about the price
ChristianN
I believe light in color means light in flavor. I'm with you on the not worrying about cost. Off I go in search of orange blossom!
PB2
The type of honey is nothing more than a suggestion. Use any honey that you like to eat as long as you can imagine the same flavour/aroma being suitable in the beer.
