I was looking through BeerSmith for a DuPont Saison for interest only. Next thing I come along this. Saison DuPont is around 6.5%abv from memory. Yep, certainly is and yeah I don’t think he’d get anywhere near that however regardless I just find it utterly flabbergasting that people just make high abv for high abv sake. Stupid. Maybe I'm a bit old school but if I'm brewing a dark ale/porter/stout I'm brewing it for the malt driven flavor, not to make a different colored pale ale. Silmaril Posted October 16, 2018 Share Posted October 16, 2018 WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Opened the first of my Pale Ale (Attempt #2) and it is a perfectly drinkable beer! Definitely some hop aroma from the Citra dry hop. Quite cloudy but not fussed too much by that. Decent carbonation level. VERY EXCITED! Kinda wishing I had put more than one in the fridge now!!!
