AndrewC5
What yeast should i use with a English bitter and a Dark ale (going to reuse the yeast). I was thinking of a S-04, but i remember reading some where is wasn't any good, would US-05 do alright? What else could i try?
AussieJosh
You dont want to try the yeast under the lid? They are good ale yeasts!
AndrewC5
ive heard a good way to improve beer is to use fresher/other yeasts.
Muddy Waters
I'd reculture some yeast from some commercial Pale Ale stubbies if you are going to re-use the yeast. It is great yeast for those styles I reckon.
AndrewC5
im not too confident in doing that, but ill do a read and up and have a stab. How many times can i brew on the one yeast cake?

I just used it in an Irish Red and so far I am liking it. It will probably give you more of an authentic English taste to the EB kit. The US-05 will leave the brew too clean and won't be to style. PB2
If you must use a different yeast - go for a good liquid yeast. As for dry yeast in this style, I like Windsor or Nottingham.
