Morrie
I have some beer glasses that do not have nucleation sites. I have tried using some glass etching paste called Armour Etch. So far I've given it 2 applications but I don't think it is etching it rough enough to create significant nucleation points. I've tested it with beer and compared it with a glass that already has a nucleation site. Has anyone on here done any sort of process to successfully achieve this? Byrock
Yes i gave it a go with some coarse grit sandpaper wrapped around and taped to the end of a chopstick - worked a treat, just dont over do it. Try it first on an old glass.
Otto Von Blotto
I've used a diamond file end to etch a few random scratches in the bottom of glasses, and also used the sandpaper, although that was on the eraser end of a pencil. Both worked well and were quick and easily done.
Mark D Pirate
I have seen it done with fine sand and a bit of wooden dowel in a cordless drill , it did work and was easy enough , all my glasses at home had nucleation points from factory so not had to do it
Morrie
Thanks fellas. I'll give the sand paper a go first.
