  1. Then buy the book, that will give you a gist of things and you will be supporting the people that put it together or are you wanting everything for free? I will remember that when I need something, just take it and sod the consequences

    Thank you
  3. I'd recommend looking https://www.reenactorsmarket.co.uk/
  4. I'd rather you buy the book off someone rather than share the recipes with you as its from a small publisher and they could do with the money
  5. I have a book on 17th century brewing bought at a reinactment fair. Some of the recipes are very interesting, has anyone tried historical brewing before?
  6. https://www.growforagecookferment.com/how-to-make-a-gallon-of-mead/ My mate said this is cracking stuff. I have made my own as well

I'm thinking of using some oak wood chipping, but the question is do I bag them or let them loose. Any advice would be appreciated
  8. it takes me and my friend about a week to pick and crush the apples, with the small press that i have you do get small chunks of apple in the juice it is the natural yeast off these bits the ferments the juice, In that time the juice has already fermented, then i just add the beer mix i have found that coopers wheat beer mix is best don't add any sugars as the sugars in the apples are enough to make a nice brew but because it takes us so long to crush we don't know the %,its ready about may
  9. i have been making apple beer for a fer years now, i use apples from next doors garden and by the time i come to adding the beer mix its all ready fermented, no need to add yeast as its all ready in the apples, however if using juice bought from a shop check for E numbers as they can impair the yeast. also to take away the sharpness i also use a vanilla pod this year i am also experimenting with cininam XxX
