  1. Had the same thing happen to me doing this brew, stalled at 1.026. Used both the kit yeast and a packet of s-33. Raised the temp up to 21 and managed to get it moving again, finished at 1.020.
  2. Here's a version with a few small changes, has the new Coopers kits in there. Kit%20&%20Extract%20Beer%20Designer%20V4.1c.xlsm
  3. Yeah hopefully that all it is, will give it a good clean after I bottle the stout and then test it out with some water.
  4. Has anyone had issues with the new coopers taps leaking. I bought a new tap last week, and it's now leaking out of the tap opening. If I jiggle the tap lever I can usually get it to stop, but its a bit of a pita.

They'll work just fine in the big one, but you can never have too many fermentors & I find the coopers craft fermentor is great for experimental batches.
  6. Cheers Lusty, very helpful.
  7. Hi all, I'm wanting to do a partial mash for my next beer (while still using a kit as a base) and looking for some advice on a recipe. I'm considering either doing the coopers xpa recipe and substituting out the light malt extract, but not sure what grain to use and how much I wound need to use instead. My other option is something using the TC amber ale kit, I'm open to any recipe suggestions for that one. Cheers in advance. Dave
  8. Can't believe I've never thought to do this, I can finally stop swiping hair ties off the better half.
  9. Ended up making this last weekend, went with 30g lemon drop for 15 minutes, will dry hop with probably another 40g. Ended up using S-23 over W-34/70 as the better half said it needed "the lemony looking yeast since it's a lemony beer" . Looks like it's chugging along nicely (bottom fermenter), can't wait to try it.
  10. That would certainly be the sensible way to go
  11. I don't have any Galaxy atm, thinking maybe adding some Citra with the Lemon Drop instead? The other hops I have are Amarillo, Calypso, Centennial, Czech Saaz & Hallartau.
  12. Hi everyone, Looking to do something a bit different and want to try a Coopers Golden Crown Lager kit with some lemon drop hops. Was thinking to add 1.5kg dry malt and 500g dex, but not sure how much lemon drop to add, or when to add it as I've never used it before. Also not sure if I should throw in any other hops that might compliment it. Any advice is appreciated. Dave.
  13. While most of you don't know me (more of a lurker then a poster), Merry Xmas to you all! Dave
  14. Turns out it was the Parity Amber Ale from the recipe section, one of my regular go to brews. Dave
