  1. I just bought a new kegland Grand Delux 3 and installed it last Wed. The compressor cuts in every 5 min, runs for 90sec and cuts out again. Not sure if that's normal or not. Fridge is down to 2 deg c and everything else is fine. Just wondering if anyone else has the same issue. Kieran.
  2. Just an update on the problem i had with gravity readings. After a bit of stuffing around I finally worked it out. Even though I had set my grain mill at 0.7mm it opened up as I was milling allowing unmilled grain through. A lot had been milled but some hadn't. Got myself a new mill, doing the first brew today and things are looking like they used to. Thanks for your input guys
  3. I have been doing all grain brewing for a long time, and I have a problem that has me stumped. By the way I do brew in a bag method. I have been making the same brews for ages but something has changed. Example, up until lately I start my mash at 67c, and mash for 60 min. I boil for 60 min., and I usually end up with a SG of around 1060. Over the past few brew days I have ended up with a SG of 1050. The grain bill is exactly the same, mash temp and time is exactly the same, but the SG is down 10 points. I have had the same thing happen with some of my other brews also. I use different mash temps for different brews but am having the same drop at the end of the boil. The grain doesn't sit around for very long before I use it and I also mill my grain. Any ideas why this is happening????? Kieran.

    Digiboil

Hi guys, it's been a long long time since I've been on this forum. My question is has anyone used the 65lt Digiboil units for BIAB? I am thinking of buying one and moving away from my old brew keg and gas burner, simply for better temp control. Has anyone used one this size plugged into a normal 10amp power point with all 3 elements working? Also if you are only using the 2 elements, how long does it take to get from mash temp to boil. Cheers Kieran
  5. This topic has probably been covered numerous times before but I'll ask again anyway. Has anyone had any success harvesting and reusing dry yeast? If so how do you wash it and how long can you store it in the fridge. I am not doing it to save money, I just hate the thoughts of throwing out what could be a perfectly healthy yeast. I have had some great results and some reasonable results before. I do all grain brews so it's a lot of effort wasted if you stuff up the yeast. I know people will say why bother for a $5 dry yeast but I enjoy trying something different. Cheers Kieran
  6. Loved your videos, such technical terms lol easy to watch and informative. I have been making beer for a long time and still picked up a couple of tips from your videos. Do you have to sanitize the bottles after washing ? Looking forward to some more. Kieran
